These terms and conditions set out the basis on which you can use our website and place orders for items from the Maitland’s Website. By ordering goods from Maitland’s Website you are deemed to have understood and accepted these terms. The supplier of the goods featured is Maitland’s Website, ("Maitland’s", "we", or "us"). Orders
A contract is formed between Maitland’s and you when we despatch the goods you have ordered. Exceptions apply to personalised items and goods made to your order, orders for which cannot be cancelled once you have received email confirmation that your order has been accepted. For a list of exceptions please see Returns below. For security reasons, until you have received your first statement and a payment has been received you will be unable to order Gift Cards/ vouchers or to an alternative address.
Delivery Charges
Our delivery charge in Aberdeenshire is free, no matter how large your order. The following charges apply for delivery outside Aberdeenshire: Northern Ireland £15, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Scilly Isles £30 and Scottish Islands £55.
We are unable to deliver outwith the UK through our website. If you are an overseas customer, please call us on ++441346 513224.
Returns
You may return any item free of charge within 10 days of receipt, in a new and unused condition. If you return items after this time we may refund only the current or last selling price of the item to your Maitland’s Account. Returned items which are not in new or unused condition or which are returned after the approval period may not be credited to your account unless they are faulty. If you return the whole order we will not refund any delivery charge as this part of our service to you has been completed.
We are unable to accept the return of large bulky items or domestic appliances. A non-refundable collection charge of £30.00 will be applied to selected furniture items if delivery is refused or collection is requested unless the product is faulty or does not fit the description given. No refunds or exchanges can be given on items made to your specification, such as sofas and made to measure curtains, unless there is a manufacturing defect or the goods are not as ordered. For hygiene reasons certain jewellery items, cosmetics and grooming products, mattresses, divans, duvets and pillows cannot be returned if unwrapped unless faulty. Self assembly furniture cannot be returned if assembly is part or fully completed unless the item is faulty. Where a product has a security seal, a refund or exchange will not be given if the seal is broken. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Gift cards/vouchers cannot be returned or exchanged for cash.
Because each upholstery item is made to your specific order, a non refundable deposit of 25% of the total value of the order will be charged to your account 3 days after the date of your order.
Returns to Store
This service is available in both Maitland’s stores and is free of charge. If you are returning an item via a store, please take your delivery note with you.  Certain items cannot be returned to stores, as detailed above.
Payments
By credit & debit cards
We accept all major credit and debit cards
We are unable to accept Cards that are due to expire within 5 days. Card details are checked and verified by a third party and goods are despatched once authorisation has been obtained.
 
By cheque
Cheques should be made payable to Maitland’s and posted to Maitland’s 23 Cross Street, Fraserburgh, AB43 9ER.
By Maitland’s Gift Voucher
Complete the payment slip and send by recorded Track & Trace delivery to Maitland’s 23 Cross Street, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, AB43 9ER. We advise you to ensure the method of postage chosen requires a signature by the recipient and carries sufficient insurance for the value of the vouchers sent.

Prices
The prices quoted are those ruling at the time of production. Due to circumstances beyond our control, prices may have to be altered up or down, including any alterations to the rate of value added tax. The correct price will be shown on your delivery note. If for this, or any other reason, an item is not acceptable, it may be returned providing it is sent back within ten days and is in new condition. Certain products cannot be returned. See Returns section above, for details. All prices shown are cash prices in sterling. We reserve the right to alter or amend the credit charges, to withdraw credit, to accept or reject orders, to request part payment, to refuse applications or with prior written notice to close an account. Prices of goods displayed in and ordered through the Directory may differ from prices in store.
Arrears Charges
If a cheque is dishonoured or your Direct Debit payment is not made on time you will be charged £5.50.
If your account is transferred to a debt collection agency then an administration charge of £30 will be added to the balance owing to your account on transfer.
Usage
All products are sold on the basis that they are suitable for domestic use only. Please contact us for further information if you intend using any products in a business or public environment.
Availability
All orders for products are subject to availability.
Code of Practice
We undertake to deal with any complaint speedily and sympathetically. We reserve the right to refuse to supply any individual or company.
Complaints
Maitland’s welcomes and learns from complaints. We aim to deal with complaints speedily and sympathetically. All complaints are logged, investigated and replied to.
Financial Complaints - Where complaints related to the consumer credit offer are not resolved to the customer's satisfaction the customer may have the right to refer their complaint, in writing, to the Financial Ombudsman Service, for independent investigation. Details will be provided as appropriate.
Prices
The prices payable for the items that you order are clearly set out in the web site and brochure. This is the highest price you pay, exclusive of delivery charges. The prices of these items may be reduced since going to press and you should check the website to find out the price that applies to the product of your choice. All prices are expressed inclusive of VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The price of the items does not include the delivery charge.
Availability
If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Contract
There will be no contract of any kind between you and us until payment for your goods is authorised by your Maitland’s account. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that payment for the goods is authorised, a contract will be made between you and us. Authority for payment must be given at the time of the order. Payment for your order will be taken once stock availability has been confirmed. If for any reason the goods can not be supplied then payment will be refunded in full.
Delivery
Delivery will be made to the address specified by you. Please note that our standard delivery of products is within mainland UK only (excluding Northern Ireland). All deliveries will be made to you by our courier. We do our best to secure delivery within 3-7 working days of the date of your order. If you order and specify items with different delivery dates, we will ship them separately and you will be charged a delivery charge each time. The cost for delivery is £19.99 regardless of the number of items delivered, on a particular date. If you are not at home for a pre-arranged delivery then we reserve the right to charge you a further £19.99 to redeliver your order. If you wish to change the delivery date once it is agreed then please give us no less than 48 hours notice prior to delivery.
Privacy Policy
Maitland’s aims to operate in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We do not supply customer information to third parties. We will only use your email address to contact you in relation to an enquiry you have made; in the event that a problem arises; for administrative purposes or operational reasons relating to our service. We may occasionally email you with details of new services or offers.
You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will correct them promptly or delete you from our database.
The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our security policy and the law.
